Who lives here?
Can you describe the style of the room?
Georgie’s updated room is Scandinavian-inspired with attention to the colours grey and blush. Her new room was created to grow with her. It is a tranquil place where she can relax, read a book or play with her dollies.
What’s Georgie’s favourite part of the room?
Georgie loves sitting under her Nermero74 canopy with the copper fairy lights on.
What’s your favourite thing in the room?
That’s tough to answer! It’s hard to go past the beautiful copper bed from Incy Interiors.
Can you tell us about any handmade or DIY elements you incorporated?
Essentially my hubby has put all the labour into transforming the room that was papered with Nan’s ’80s funky wallpaper to what it is today.
What are your top tips for creating a room like this?
When creating any children’s space it is important to keep it functional and fun. Being able to display their favourite toy, latest painting or most recent photo of the family is important. You can do this with shelving displays, using washi tape to tape things up, and/or clever storage options. As you can see I’ve also added an extra space by putting up the canopy/tent where Georgie can go to whenever she wants. Having books accessible is also a must for me, as this promotes development.
What were the main challenges you faced creating this space?
The biggest challenge was deciding what items not to have in the room! I didn’t want to overcrowd the space, but with so many beautiful children’s items out there it posed a difficulty.
