I first caught sight of designer and illustrator Laura Blythman’s work at the Sydney Finders Keepers Markets. Since then I have seen her work adored and shared daily via Instagram, and I often see her latest creations featured on everything from stationery to party décor, and now kids apparel and homewares thanks to her collaboration with Such Great Heights.
Laura’s vibrant neon-coloured collages, illustrated animals and fun cheeky hand-drawn lettering are the perfect balance of beauty and whim.
child mags blog got in touch with Jo and Ryan from Such Great Heights to find out how the collaboration came about.
“We’ve long admired Laura Blythman’s work, her vibrant collages are so distinctive and fun. We’ve talked about working together for a number of years and then this year, the opportunity to create a new artwork for use across our Wonder Tents, cushions, apparel and accessories arose. We are working with exceptional, high-quality fabrics and printers here in the US, and knew that a design with Laura in a kaleidoscope of colours would translate very well to textiles. Laura got to work and brought the collection Carnevale to life – it looks incredible!”
The response from customers and retailers about the Laura Blythman Carnevale print and new range has been overwhelming. It’s been great working with another Australian artist, especially one who is juggling a busy schedule while raising a young family, as we do.

Aussie couple Jo and Ryan launched the children’s brand Such Great Heights in 2012. In a quest to inspire their two daughters to explore their creativity they began making their own toys, with a focus on setting the stage for rich imaginary play. From these humble beginnings, the seeds for Such Great Heights were sown. The happy family now lives in New York and continue to collaborate with Australian creatives. Check out their range via their website or follow them on Instagram and Facebook.
