Going on a beach date? Melissa Cowan helps you choose what to bring and where to go.
If you can find a babysitter, or call the grandparents or a friend so you can go on a date with your partner, props to you.
Heading to the beach on a sunny day is my favourite – there’s something calming about being near the water. I can almost feel my ‘to do’ lists and worries float away with the waves. If you’re not near a beach, consider a river, waterfall or even a hotel pool. Being prepared can make or break your day…so don’t forget the sunscreen, a hat and your sunnies to protect you from the rays.
If you can’t get away with your date during the day, pop down in the evening for a quick dip and some beachside snacks by sunset. Or find a nearby restaurant for a relaxed dinner.
