Jenna Templeton learns that coconut oil is best friends with organic baby products.
‘Coconut oil does what?’ This was something I kept repeating to myself six months ago when I discovered all the healing benefits of coconut oil after hearing my sister-in-law rave about it.
A regular user of organic and eco-friendly baby products, coconut oil has become her go to remedy to use on her baby daughter to stop nappy rash and for bathing. Having suffered from the occasional bout of eczema myself, I was keen to give it a try and find out more.
It turns out coconut oil can help your baby in a number of ways:
- Helps to clean off meconium and treats cradle cap
- Use it as moisturiser for baby massages
- Helps soothe dry skin, nappy rash, eczema and pilaris
- Relieves itchiness from mosquito bites
- Keeps baby squeaky clean during bath time
If you’re not a fan of the oily texture of coconut oil, there are lots of amazing products and moisturisers for baby (and mum) by Kelapa Organics that are Australian made and free from harmful parabens, synthetic fragrances, artificial colours and preservatives. Our Digital Editor Bron gifted their Baby Lotion and a nourishing Baby Shampoo & Body Wash to a friend recently and she loves it.
